ABOUT

The first idea of Take It Outside came about during an evening gathering around a campfire following a hunting trip in early November of 2019, spearheaded by our Chairman, Randall Tolbert. The individuals who were on this casual bird-hunting trip shared a mutual bond: they were all professionals in the Outdoor Services Industry.

While chitchatting around the fire about their experiences in the industry, they recognized the collective expertise among their group. They realized that the individuals present that night had the skills to design, construct, repair, and maintain any outdoor project imaginable. Knowing others in the field, they knew this idea was something that could grow to become a much larger community.

At Take It Outside, we’re all about stepping out into the fresh air and making a positive impact, not just on our surroundings but also in professionals’ lives. Our mission rests on four foundational pillars that define who we are and what we aim to achieve.

We strive to connect professionals in the outdoor service industry and beyond. Are you a landscape professional, skilled laborer, industry equipment/chemical supplier, or are you a supporting service such as an investment banker, insurance company, or law firm? If so, we have a place for you here at Take It Outside. We believe that when we come together as a Community, we are stronger and better equipped to make meaningful changes in our professional fields and personal lives.

We use our strong community ties to organize and take part in service projects that benefit local Partner Organizations. From revitalizing rundown public spaces to creating new and useful gardens, our Projects are designed to not only give back to communities in need but also to foster a sense of teamwork and pride among our members.

Recognizing the power of nature to soothe and heal, we design these spaces to help individuals cope with anxiety and other Mental Health challenges. It’s about creating havens where people can go to find peace, clarity, and a breath of fresh air to ease their minds. At Take It Outside, we believe that the great outdoors holds the key to not only physical but also mental well-being.

Looking towards the future, we would love to see more chapters open around Georgia and Southeast. The bigger we get, the more nonprofits we can partner with, and the more projects we can go do to encourage more people to get outside. If you are passionate about the outdoors and eager to make a difference, Take It Outside might just be the community you have been looking for. Let’s step outside and make a positive impact together!
